Ohhh lovely! Yes, great idea Night!

That milkshake sounds really yum.

As you already know, I love this cake:

Nigella's Cherry Cheesecake

When I made it, I modified it quite a lot, using 4x the amount of cream cheese and a bit more double cream, and I made my own cherry topping, but I still credit the original recipe for being ab-so-lute-ly SCRUMPTIOUS.

I love this plum tart, and I can't wait to make it again, with plums straight from our garden!

CHOCOLATE OLIVE OIL CAKE

"Although I first came up with this recipe because I had someone coming for supper who - genuinely - couldn't eat wheat or dairy, it is so meltingly good, I now make it all the time for those whose life and diet are not so unfairly constrained, myself included.

It is slightly heavier with the almonds - though not in a bad way - so if you want a lighter crumb, rather than a squidgy interior, and are not making the cake for the gluten-intolerant, then replace the 150g ground almonds / 1½ cups almond meal with 125g plain flour / ¾ cup plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour. This has the built-in bonus of making it perhaps more suitable for an everyday cake.

Made with the almonds, it has more of supper-party pudding feel about it and I love it still a bit warm, with some raspberries or some such on the side, as well as a dollop of mascarpone or ice cream."

- Nigella Lawson

Beet Juice

Beets are a root vegetable that are packed full of antioxidants that aid in naturally detoxifying unwanted substances in our body.
They are also high in vitamins essential for healthy skin and reducing inflammation.
This juice is refreshing and delicious.

1 orange, peeled and roughly chopped
2cm piece of ginger, peeled
3-4 baby beets (or 1-2 beets)
small handful of mint
½ cup ice
1 cup water

I know this guy from like 10 years ago from London, he was our chef's BFF and used to hang out with us all the time. He's an Italian chef and a couple years ago he started his own Youtube food channel. Now he's being regularly featured in Huffington Post and other international sources, so I just figured I'd share his channel.
He has tons of authentic Italian recipes, many veggie dishes and he cooks with his grandma or dad a lot. I want to try out his grandma's Limoncello Laughing

Re: Share your Recipes

Post by President Roosevelt on Tue May 02, 2017 9:48 pm

Since I've been running a lot more, there's nothing like greens and protein to give me extra nutrients and energy. That's why I'm proud to say I've been eating a lot more salads lately and making them too.  Cool :

1. With a lot of help from my Mom, we made an Italian style chopped salad last Saturday. At first I was pessimistic about it, I love the chopped salad I usually eat from my favorite Italian restaurant and I didn't think I could make my salad as good as theirs - especially not on the first attempt. But I was wrong, I enjoyed mine just as much as theirs. Sometimes it's amazing what happens when we dare to go beyond our comfort zone and be a little creative.

So here it is, our chopped salad straight from our kitchen:

This one has parmigiano-reggiano on it:

These are the ingredients:

- Romaine lettuce
- Red cabbage
- Tomatoes
- Chicken
- Bacon
- Ditalini pasta
- Italian dressing (I like the Organic's brand)

The one from the restaurant has Gorgonzola (Italian blue cheese) but I'm not a fan of that, next time I'd like to try mozzarella in it and maybe olives. Instead, I added red cabbage for extra flavor and some crunch. So that's 3-4 times more salad than the restaurant at the same price. The salad should have had more bacon but I couldn't refuse eating a strip on its own  Wink  .

2. I made this tuna spinach salad today completely on my own (because it's really easy lol  Razz ):

The ingredients are:

- Popeye spinach
- Organic's Italian dressing
- Tuna fish (mixed with mayo, lemon juice, sliced onions, and black pepper)

Next time I'd like it with kalamata olives and more red onions with pita bread and hummus. I would have added tomatoes but I wanted to save them for the omelettes, pasta and salmon.

Ok, the pictures suck 'cause I was hungry and didn't care about putting any effort in them, but you get the idea. Now I know that I can make my own salads at home and be more than satisfied with them. I feel like I'm a chef! lol Hopefully all of these greens wills balance out the chocolate chip waffles drenched in maple syrup I've been eating Crazy happy dog
