What's your favourite time of day?

Post by Night Eyes on Fri Jan 13, 2017 8:21 am

Does anyone have a favourite time of day? any fond memories, or certain times where you just feel a little better or happier?

Mine is Dusk, I love how this Magical Stillness just descends as the day gives way to the night, for some reason I just feel more relaxed and in tune with the world at this time of day than any other, like I'm calmer and more centered.

I even remember as a child running home from the park and loving how the village had gone from active and noisy to quiet and still, you could hear more of nature. It was like everything was just winding down and breathing and relaxing.

I used to sit on my parents patio on summer evenings watching the sun go down behind the mountain, and it always felt like I was being let in on some secret of the universe, like at that moment feeling that I was a part of something bigger Smile.

Beautiful, Night.

This question is more or less impossible to answer for me. I do love dusk as well - it has a magical feeling of in-betweenness. "Twilight" is such a beautiful word, as is "crepuscular."

Yet I also find mornings, particularly early mornings, something very special. There is a kind of optimism in the air when the world is just waking up to another, brand-new day. A light, happy atmosphere. Dew on the grass.

But I love the night time too, when the world is dressed in midnight velvet, ready to dance, go to the opera, see the Berlin Philharmonic preform or have a pizza on the lamplit Riviera.

Afternoons are also beautiful, especially if you are lucky enough to have a lazy one... a walk in the park, a stroll on the beach, the sun warming your back. Time for afternoon tea...

And noon itself is nice, for it's time to eat the main meal of the day and enjoy your lunch break (if you have one)!

So I really have no favourite time, I like them all for different reasons. Smile But I think dawn and dusk and night are undoubtedly the most magical and atmospheric.

The mind can go in a thousand directions, but on this beautiful path, I walk in peace. With each step, the wind blows. With each step, a flower blooms.” - Thich Nhat Hanh

Awww yes there is definitely something special about each time of the day really isn't there.

I agree with early mornings too, when the world starts waking up, there's a light happy expectant feeling to it, all the birds start chirping and everything starts buzzing and moving it's lovely.

I think reflecting on these things help me to feel grateful for the day, each and every part of it has something special to offer we may just not be noticing it when we're weighed down.

My favorite time has always been sunrise and the first early morning hours when the sun is golden, the air is so fresh and everything covered with dew drops. Especially in Estonia when during the summer the sun rises so early that most people miss it.
Plus it always has this light feeling of unlimited possibilities of what I can do that day, in the evenings I always have a heavier feeling about things that didn't get done.

and I do love my morning coffee Smile
